Dining Room Furniture

After being in our house for 3 years, we finally now have dining room furniture.  This was the last empty room in the house to fill with furniture (besides the empty upstairs bedroom that we use as a junk room).  I can tell I'm getting older because I was actually really excited about getting dining room furniture.  Again, I was a little nervous that it was going to look more formal than I wanted, but in the end I love the way it looks.  I'm glad we went with the set that we did.  I'm also glad we stuck with just the buffet instead of the china cabinet.  We still have more work to do in the room.  We need a new chandelier (one that's not gold), a mirror for the wall above the buffet and decorations for the buffet and the table.  We'll work on that over the next month or so.  It's just so nice to have that room filled now, especially with it being one of the first rooms you see when you walk into our house.

Shawn and I spent all morning getting the china out of the junk room closet.  We never unpacked the china from our wedding, so we literally haven't seen what we had gotten in over 3 years.  It felt like Christmas all over again.  :)  We had a lot more than we remembered!

While we were getting all the china out of the junk room upstairs, Emily saw her cradle from when she was a baby and decided she needed to play in it.  She played in it for a good 15-20 minutes.

And here's just a few other random pictures from our day.

We went to Calloways to get some plants for the pots we have and while Shawn planted them, Emily and I played outside.

We ended our day by going out to dinner with Shawn's mom and stepdad.  Shawn's dad was nice enough to watch Emily for us.  Shawn's mom watched Emily while we were in NY, so we wanted to take her to dinner to thank them for watching her.

It was nice having a day with no major plans.  We were able to get a ton accomplished.  We plan on having another low-key day on Sunday.
