Papa Mike, Shawn's dad, passed away in April. He had been sick for so long, it was a bittersweet time. It was so hard to see him suffering, but even with all the preparation of knowing the end was coming, it was really hard as well. Papa Mike had made all the plans for his funeral and Shawn, Scott and Catherine carried out all his wishes. We celebrated his life with lots of family and friends at the funeral home and then the next day had a service at the DFW National Cemetery. It ended up being exactly what Papa Mike would have wanted.
