Turks & Caicos - Day 5

Wednesday morning was picture day!  The resort offers a free photography session, you just pay for any pictures you want.  We knew we wanted to do them early in the day when the water was that perfect shade of aqua and before it got too hot.  Now it was definitely hot when we did them, but would have been worse later in the day.  I was really happy with how they turned out and pretty sure I will be using them on our Christmas cards this year.

After pictures, we put our swimsuits on and met the Gists at barefoot on the beach for a late breakfast.  It was picnic tables right on the sand.  I liked the atmosphere, but the service at this restaurant was so slow.  .by far the worst we had at any restaurant.

Just like all the previous days, we bounced around between the beach, the pool and the waterpark.  The girls all got their hair braided. . .we told them they had to wait until after our photography session.   We ate lunch at the jerk shack and it was yummy.

We decided to rent a car for 24 hours to be able to explore a bit of the island.  This was such a good decision.  While I loved the resort and all the activities, I really enjoyed getting out too.  The rental car company brought the 2 cars directly to our resort which was so convenient.  We cleaned up after swimming and headed out to dinner at Coco Bistro.  Shawn drove our family and it was a little scary.  Since Turks is a British island, they drive on the left side of the road and the steering wheel is on the right side of the car.  I was just glad I didn't have to drive!

Coco Bistro was really good, but also really expensive.  We got our first taste of just how pricey things were on the island
