Sunday was our first full day and we couldn't wait to kick it off. We ate breakfast at the restaurant in our village, Reflections. It was just a buffet, but perfect for breakfast. The kids were excited to start the day at the waterpark. There were several slides, a lazy river and a surf simulator.
After a while, the kids were ready to hit the beach. There were several water activities that were included in the cost of our stay. . kayaks, water bikes, paddle boards, etc. Unfortunately, it was really windy the entire time we were there. As a result, water bikes and paddle boards weren't able to be used on the windy days. Shawn and Evan did take out a kayak one day, but it was a lot of work with how windy it was.
The beach at Beaches is a public beach, so vendors would come up and down trying to sell stuff. Luckily they weren't pushy once you told them no, but we did take them up on an offer this afternoon. Courtney and I took Evan and Grace parasailing. I didn't realize quite how windy it was until we got up in the air, but once we were up there. . .wow, we were blowing around a bunch. I started to feel nauseous pretty quickly and Evan was pretty nervous up there, so Evan gave the signal that indicated we were ready to come down. I'm glad to say we did it, but I think I'm good now one parasailing. Ha
That night for dinner we headed to Schooners. Shawn went down early and grabbed us a table. Courtney and I had read that the restaurants can get busy and the waits can get long, but we really didn't experience that at all. There was only a few times that we had to wait and when we did, it wasn't crazy. I really liked Schooners and the atmosphere. It was 1 of my favorite restaurants.
Shawn headed back to the room after dinner and the rest of us headed to the nighttime show. It was umm. . interesting. ha. It was the welcome show and I wasn't very impressed. They did have a chocolate buffet set up though, so we all enjoyed that.
