We had a full week of cold and snow in February. They had been predicting freezing temps and snow about a week ahead of time, but snow is predicted often and then nothing comes up it. Well, this time they were right. We had below freezing temps for a solid week and 2 measurable snowfalls within the week. It was like nothing we had ever seen in TX. There was 1 day that we had a windchill of -15 degrees! Because of the freezing temps, the power grid couldn't keep up, so we dealt with rolling blackouts. We were one of the lucky ones in that we only had blackouts out for 1 morning. But my brother and parents had blackouts that lasted the entire week. The kids ended up being home from school for the entire week and then a couple days of the following week too.
While the freezing temps and being stuck at home were no fun, the kids absolutely loved playing in the snow every single day. Thank goodness their ski clothes still fit. They definitely took full advantage of them.
