Merry Christmas

Christmas morning we were all up around 7:00 and headed downstairs to see what Santa had left!

This year instead of us giving the kids presents, we decided to give them a trip instead.  We had been holding on to this secret for about 8 months and I couldn't wait to finally tell them!  We bought each of the kids a suitcase (something Emily had been asking for) and when they opened it, I asked them "what do you need a suitcase for?"  They answered "to take on trips", so I asked them if they wanted to go on a trip this Christmas break.  They were super excited and guessed where they might be going, but each guess was wrong.  I had them open 3 items we had bought for the ski trip as clues to where we were going - long johns, ski socks and ski goggles.  Finally on the ski goggles, Evan guessed that we were going skiing.

Just a couple hours after we opened presents, Papa Mike, Aunt Catherine, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Scott, Mason and Myles came over to exchange presents and have breakfast.

After they headed out, we left to head over to Shawn's Granny's house for yet more presents!  As much fun as Christmas Day is, I'm always a little bit relieved when it's all over.
