Evan started off the month with strep. Not much takes this guy out, so we definitely knew something was up when he didn't want to get off the couch one morning. Luckily he rebounded pretty quickly after starting antibiotics.
They had some kind of assembly at school where they wore 3D glasses. Em's teacher sent this to me of her and her bestie, Alexis.
Emily had a fun girl scout meeting this month where they played lots of games.
We split up one Saturday night. Emily and Shawn had a Daddy/daughter date to see Peter Rabbit and Evan and I had a Mommy/son night where we went to the mall, had dinner and out for ice cream. No pics from my date.
Shawn went out of town to Austin for work towards the end of the month. Evan wanted me to send him a picture of his creation, "Mr. Watery."
Evan surprised Shawn one morning as it got closer to his birthday with breakfast. He made him a b-day crown, a card and made sure to give him a flower too. He can be so sweet!
We went to brunch one Sunday afternoon and the kids insisted on climbing this longhorn before we left.
At the end of the month we celebrated Shawn's 40th birthday. Unfortunately, we couldn't plan anything too big this year. We just don't have sitters. :( But we did still celebrate a little. We went to KK's house for dinner one night.
And on the day of his birthday the kids woke up super early and surprised him with a homemade breakfast that they did all by themselves. We were actually pretty impressed. It's a chocolate muffin top that they put in the toaster along with fruit topped with chocolate sauce, sprinkles and candles.
Since we didn't have any sitters to watch our kids, we decided to take Shawn's b-day off and celebrate during the day instead. We went out to lunch, a movie and HH.
