Disney Cruise Vacation Day 2: Embarkation Day

We woke up Monday morning excited that we would be boarding the Disney cruise that morning.  We checked out of our hotel and drove the few miles to the port to return the car and get in line to get checked in.  We also had plans to meet up with our friends, the Gist's, at the port.  We had a 10:45 port arrival time.  We had to wait about 30-40 minutes in line but before too long we were all checked in and we were given a card allowing us to enter in the 4th boarding group.  We got in line to take a picture with Mickey while we were waiting to board.  I didn't realize they started boarding at 11:30 and before we knew it they were calling boarding group 4.  We stayed in line for Mickey though and ended up boarding with group 6 instead.

Once we got on the ship we headed up to Deck 11 which was where the pools were.  The kids had worn their swimsuits on board since we couldn't get into our rooms until 1:30.  It was rainy and cold, but that didn't stop the kids from swimming.  They loved the pools and slide.

After some swimming, we grabbed some lunch at the buffet at Cabana's.  The boys then headed to the rooms and Courtney and I took the kids to check out the open house at the kid's club.  This was the only day that parents were allowed to stay with the kids at the kids club.

When we left the kids club we headed to the mandatory muster drill and then went back to our rooms to get cleaned up for the show and dinner.  We had the late dinner seating at 8:15 which meant we went to the early show at 6:15.  This night, the show was the Golden Mickey's.  It was super cute and both kids really enjoyed it.  We had about an hour to kill in between the show and dinner so we decided to get in line for a few characters.  The lines were never too long which was really nice.  This night we met Minnie and Daisy.

There were 3 table service restaurants on the ship and we rotated between the 3 restaurants for dinner each night.  Our servers rotated with us.  On the first night, we ate at the Enchanted Garden restaurant. All of the food we ate was delicious.

After dinner we headed back to our room to call it a night.  It was a fun first day on the ship.  We couldn't wait until the next day when we would be at our first port.
