When we got back to the house, we decided to head back up to the base of the mountain in the morning and ride one of the ski lifts up to the top. The kids really enjoyed going up the lift! Once we got to the top, Kevin, Julie and the girls decided to hike down the mountain. There was no way our kids could do that, so we opted to take the lift back down the mountain.
While we were waiting for them to finish hiking we walked in a few more stores and let the kids do the tin cup mining again. We then parked ourselves on the patio of a restaurant and got an appetizer and some drinks.
Kevin, Julie and the girls made it down the mountain shortly before noon. At noon Julie and I were signed up to have our zipline tour. I was super excited about this. It was the one thing going into the trip that I really wanted to do. Once we left, Shawn took our kids home for a nap and Kevin and the girls hung out to watch (and video) Julie and I on the zipline.
There were 8 people on our zipline tour after a short hike up the mountain we were on the first base. There were 5 ziplines that we would go down and several bridges that we had to get across as well. On the first base they had us learn to trust the harnesses by having us lean way back and not hold on. This was super scary and all I could think was how the heck am I going to make myself jump off to go on the first line. I watched several people go ahead of me and finally when it was my turn, I took a step off and realized just how fun it was going to be. That first step off was by far the hardest. After that, I was able to relax and enjoy all the fun. On each line they gave us a challenge. For example, on one line we had to walk off without holding on and then do a dance move across the line. On another we had to do a trust fall (fall backwards without holding on) and then do a charade of our favorite summer activity. (Just a side note. . .I did the trust fall challenge with no hands, but on Shawn's zipline tour, he still held on with one hand :) ).The challenges kept it interesting. Our tour took about 2 hours since we had so many people. After the fifth zipline, we had to repel down a pole in order to get down to the ground. The zipline tour was another of my favorites of our trip. I was so glad I did it. Such a thrill!
When we were done, we headed back down to our house and waited for our kids to wake up. Once they did, the girls filled up a bunch of water balloons and we loaded them in the cooler to take them to the park with us. The kids were super excited about the water balloons. Unfortunately they lasted all of about 10 minutes before they were all gone. So they spent the rest of the time playing on the playground.
We headed back to the house to get cleaned up and headed out to dinner. We went to have pizza at Secret Stash. It was yummy, but it took forever to get our food!! We had been promising the kids all week that we would stop for ice cream and this was the first night we had a chance. So after dinner, that's where we headed. I think it was worth the wait. After dinner we headed back to the house and got everything all packed up so we could head out the next morning.
