Crested Butte, CO Trip - Day 4: Shopping and Horseback Riding

Once again we were all up bright and early Wednesday morning.  We all got ready and then walked over to Paradise Cafe for a yummy breakfast.  After breakfast we decided to hit up all the cute little shops in town.  We all walked away with a new t-shirt and the kids each got a new toy at the toy store.

Evan loved picking the dandelions that were all over the place.  Every day he collected a bunch of them and then Lauren would help him put them in a cup of water each night.

We went back to the house for a quick pit stop and then all piled in the car to go back up the mountain.  Kevin, Julie and the girls had a horseback trail ride scheduled.  Unfortunately, you had to be 7 in order to go on the trail ride, which meant our kids couldn't go.  (We knew this going into it).    Luckily they did offer pony rides to kids under age 7.  Shawn and I just got to walk the ponies around a big field while the kids rode.  This really was perfect for our kids.  We spent about 15-20 minutes letting the kids ride the ponies before heading back to the house so Em and Evan could nap.  Shawn went and picked up Kevin and Julie and the girls once their trail ride was done.  And thankfully on the ride back, they were able to stop and pick up their newly repaired car.

Our kids were still napping when everyone else got back to the house.  Kevin, Julie and the girls decided to head out to meet some friends that they know in CB and we told them we'd meet up with them once our kids woke up.  About an hour later they were up and we walked down to meet them.  We stayed for about an hour before a storm started to blow in.  Luckily we were able to walk back to the house right before it started raining.

We had dinner reservations that night at Slogar.  Since it was raining now we drove to the restaurant instead of walking.  The restaurant reminded me a lot of Babe's.  They had fried chicken served family style.  It was really yummy.  After dinner we headed back to the house and called it a night!
