Labor Day Weekend

Saturday
We started out having plans with Shawn's parents on Saturday, but those quickly changed.  Em started dance class (for the fall session) this morning and class didn't go as planned.  Normally I take her to class and her friend, Aubrey, is there.  Today, Shawn took her and Aubrey wasn't there.  Let's just say Shawn called me 15 minutes into class to tell me that they were on their way home.  Em wanted nothing to do with dance class today.  :(  I'm hoping it was just an off day for her and next week she'll be happy about dance again.  Shawn's parents were supposed to meet Shawn and Em to watch Em dance and then me and Evan were going to meet them for lunch.  Since Em didn't want to dance, he told his parents not to come up.

Luckily, after an early nap, Em was in a happier mood.  We all ventured out to go buy some new plants for the backyard and then came back to the house so Em could swim in her whale pool in the backyard.  I decided to put Evan's suit on too and see how he liked it.  He wasn't quite sure what to think of it.  After swimming for a while, Shawn grilled out and then it was off to bed for the kids.  Shawn and I hung out outside for a bit, before I decided it was still too hot out and came in to watch our favorite Red Raiders get their first win of the season.

Sunday
Sunday morning I met my friends, Courtney and Kara, for brunch to celebrate my birthday.  Shawn stayed home with the kids and Em had fun playing dress up.

Kara made me a cute cake plate

After Em's nap we went over to my parents house to swim and have dinner.  Evan was able to try out the big pool, thanks to Aunt Julie (I didn't swim since I'm no where close to being in swim suit shape).  He liked it for about 10-15 minutes and then was ready for a nap.

These girls always end up having a dance party when we get together.  I just hope Evan can hold his own with these 3 crazy girls.

Monday
We didn't have any big plans today.  Today is my last day of my maternity leave.  :(  It's back to work tomorrow, so I just wanted to relax today.  Shawn went grocery shopping in the morning and then his brother came over and they headed to lunch while I played with the kiddos.  We just spent the afternoon hanging out.

I asked Em to hold Evan so I could take a pic (since they matched today) and after the picture I went to take him and she said "no, I want to hold my brother still."  :)  She loves her little brother!
