Shawn followed them upstairs only to find feathers all over Emily's room! What a mess! There was a pile of feathers on the floor, pictures knocked off her nightstand and feathers all over her dresser. He assumed then that Lily had captured the bird, by the amount of feathers on the floor. Shawn came downstairs to report the crime, but there was no sign of Lily or the bird. He assumed Lily took the bird to a dark corner. I kept Em downstairs, while Shawn went up to investigate only to realize Lily did not kill the bird, instead she just chased it into our room and back to Em's room, where she eventually trapped it under Em's bed. Shawn opened the window in Em's room in hopes of chasing it out, but the bird never came close. At this point Em seemed to actually enjoy having a bird in the house. Luckily Shawn was able to catch the bird using Tupperware. Shawn and Em were able to release it back outside.
Shawn began cleaning Emily's room so she could finally go to bed. We were up about an hour past her bed time at this point. She was exhausted and wanted nothing to do with Lily exploring in her room. Needless to say, Lily spent the rest of the night pacing behind a closed door outside of Emily's room waiting for her opportunity to get back in and find her "toy". It was definitely an interesting way to end our night.
This picture doesn't really do the scene justice, especially when you see the size of the bird. The poor thing must have lost the majority of it's feathers.
You can't see the bird in this pic, but Lily is staring it down.
Poor bird must have been scared to death.
Free at last!
Oh my gosh! This story made me laugh! I can just imagine all the fun ya'll were having with this bird! I would have been freaking out! That tiny little thing made one heck of a mess!
