I really wish I was writing to say that Evan has arrived, but unfortunately that is not the case. :( At this point, I think he's going to hang out until he's evicted next week.
Even though I've totally reached that super uncomfortable stage, we still managed to have a pretty fun weekend (although I have no pics to show for it). Saturday morning we met our friends, Tommy and Jenny at Fuzzy Taco's for some breakfast. It was overcast in the morning, so we sat outside on the patio and Emily and Aubrey just had the best time running around together. I'm so glad that the girls have become such sweet friends. They always have big hugs for each other when they meet. I'm pretty sure the girls could have stayed there all day playing, but after an hour or so, we decided it was time to head out. We made a quick pit stop at Market Street before heading home. Thankfully, Em was pretty worn out (as was I), so we both took a long nap Saturday afternoon.
After nap, we met our friends Courtney and Grant for dinner at Fireside Pies. Have I mentioned how much I have missed eating out?? We had a good time catching up, while enjoying some yummy food. After dinner, I made the executive decision, that Shawn, Em and I needed to stop and grab some cupcakes for dessert. So we stopped and picked up a half dozen and went back home to sit outside and eat them. By now the sun had gone down and it was nice sitting outside just enjoying our dessert. We let Em play for a while before heading inside for bed.
Sunday morning, Courtney and I went and saw the movie "What to Expect When You're Expecting." I'm sure it was a funny sight seeing 2 preggo ladies walk into this movie. I thought it was really cute. It could have been funnier, but overall, I enjoyed it.
When I got home, I had about an hour before Shawn's parents were coming over. They had gotten us some pots for our backyard down in S. Tx last weekend and they wanted to bring them by. Of course, on a day we had plans, Em decided not to take a nap. . .at all! His parents showed up around 2:45 or so and we sat outside (because they brought their dog) and visited for a couple of hours. It was HOT!! I had to keep going inside to cool off. Shawn turned the sprinkler on for Em and she had a blast just running around.
After his parents headed out, Shawn decided he wanted DQ for dinner, so he ran out and picked that up for us. Since Em hadn't napped, we put her to bed early and Shawn and I finally got to relax a bit and catch up on some TV.
It was nice having another weekend to just relax and hang out, but I can confidently say, I am now ready for Evan to make his appearance! We'll see if we have 1 more weekend of being just a family of 3 or if we'll be a family of 4 by next weekend. :)
