After naptime, Uncle Scott came down and babysat Emily for us, so Shawn and I could go to dinner with our friends, Tommy and Jenny. It's nice to be able to go to a kid-free dinner every so often. We came home and Shawn, Scott, and I just sat out on the patio for a while.
Sunday, Tommy and Jenny had invited us to go to the Splash Park by their house. This was something we had thought about doing this weekend, so it worked out perfectly when they told us they had one right by them. We ventured out there around 10:30 this morning and after her being a little hesitant at first, after a few minutes Emily realized she LOVED it!! She could have stayed out there all day. Her and Aubrey had a great time running through the water. I see us visiting the splash park often this summer! We left their house around noon and she was fighting to keep her eyes open.
We couldn't get a picture of both girls looking at us at the same time.
I think Daddy enjoyed the splash park too.
She just kept running. She even fell a couple of times and once scraped her chin. But she didn't want to be comforted long because she wanted to get back in the water!
Emily was sharing her sunglasses with Aubrey.
She kept trying to drink the water.
Hugging it out after they bumped into each other.
And you can't leave a park without taking a turn on the swings.
Emily was enjoying the wagon ride back, so much so that she felt the need to put her feet up.
After her nap, Papa Mike came over to get some brisket that Shawn had smoked on Saturday and we all went over to the new DQ and got some ice cream. . . well, everyone except Emily. My daughter doesn't like ice cream. I don't know where she came from. Ha :)
So for a weekend of no plans, we had a pretty fun 2 days!
