Week 2 in the Toddler Room

Slowly, but surely the transition to the toddler room has been getting better.  Emily still cries when I drop her off, but today was the first day that she had stopped before I left her classroom.  Her teachers also said she had a great day yesterday and she has been enjoying playing with her new friends.  This is such a relief.  I was so worred after last week that this adjustment was going to take quite a while.  She's still tired at the end of the day and with the time change her schedule has been all thrown off.  We struggle to keep her up until 7 now.  But it's something her body will eventually adjust to over the next few weeks.  So for now, we are just putting her down early.

We're still working on the transition to milk and away from the bottles.  After some trial and error, we have finally decided on a schedule for her.  She still gets a bottle of the toddler formula when she wakes up and before bedtime.  Then during the day it's all milk in the sippy cup.  We tried to eliminate the morning bottle, but Emily just doesn't like milk, plain and simple.  She will take a few sips and then spit it all out.  After several fussy mornings, I decided she had to be hungry and that's what made us decide to go back to the formula in the bottle.  The dr. was fine with us supplementing with formula, so for now that's what we're doing.  I'm pretty sure he also said she should just be weined off the bottles by 15 months.  So that's what we'll be working towards.  We'll try the milk in a few weeks, but for now we just want to make sure her tummy is full.
