Here's what's happening with Emily at 13 months:
- She wears size 6-12 month clothes.
- She wears size 2-3 diapers. Although we're about to move her up to size 3 diapers.
- She still gets 2 bottles of formula a day (in the morning and at night), the rest of the day we try to give her milk in her sippy cup. She is not a big fan of milk. Although she's drinking more and more each time we give it to her. She really doesn't like juice much either. She loves her water though.
- She's still a good eater when it comes to solid foods. She loves pasta, cheese, veggies, meat. She does not like any type of fruit (unless it's dried fruit) or yogurt. Oh and she is a huge snacker! She wants to snack all day on goldfish, yogurt melts, puffs, american cheese . .you name it. She probably goes through a package of goldfish a week.
- She has 5 teeth. 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top. For the longest time, she had 2 bottom ones in the middle and 2 top that were on either side of where her front teeth would be. We called her our little jack-o-lantern. Luckily though her top left tooth has now broken through.
- She does not like her teeth brushed. As soon as she sees me reach for the toothbrush, she clamps her lips together.
- She plays peek-a-boo. She'll cover up her eyes with her hands and then take them away.
- When I tell her to find her brush and brush her hair, she'll find her brush in her elmo purse and pretend to brush her hair.
- When she's tired, she'll lay down on the floor or put her head down on a pillow.
- She still "talks" all the time, although very few words that we can make out. She's gotten really good at pointing to what she wants. She does try and repeat a lot of words we say to her.
- They work with her at school on sign language. She can now sign "all done."
- She loves to dance. She moves her head more than any other part of her body though. It's pretty funny.
- Not walking yet. I feel like she was so close and then I think between getting sick and the daycare change, she hasn't been focused so much on trying to walk. Although she is standing more on her own and I can tell when she does take some steps her balance has gotten much better.
- She'll give hugs when you ask. By a hug, I mean she'll come over to you and put her head down on your shoulder. I love this!!
- She still hates socks and shoes. If you put them on, she'll immediately try to take them off and most of the time succeeds. They have asked us to send her to school in lace up shoes. Oh and she hates tights too. She tries to pull them off just like socks, but never has succeeded at getting them off.
- She can blow kisses.
- She can give high-fives.
- She knows what she wants and will shake her head "no" whenever you tell her to do something she doesn't want to do.
- She's starting to test her boundaries. If we tell her "no", she'll usually stop, but then a few seconds later do the same thing again and look at you while she's doing it. I wasn't ready for her to start testing us this early!
- For the most part, she's totally adjusted to the toddler room at school. She LOVES outside time!
