Evan,
I can't believe you are six now, Buddy! That just seems so much older than 5! You finished up your first year of big kid school and are headed into 1st grade in the Fall. You loved going to school with your sister and learned very quickly to be independent when it came to all things school. You grew up a lot this year and have started learning to read and do math. Kindergarten wasn't without some bumps along the way though. . .it was a bit hard for you. .sitting still for such a long day, but you did it and I know first grade will be even better.
You are super chatty and rarely quiet! You have a big personality, but can be shy around strangers. You are still my snuggle bug and give the best hugs. You are still my early riser. . usually 6:30 these days. At least now you will go downstairs and help yourself to breakfast or a snack, so Daddy and I can sleep in. You have a great sense of direction, much better than me! You can remember going to a place even if we had only been there once before.
This year you learned to ride your bike with no training wheels. You just decided one day you were ready and off you went. You lost 2 teeth this year and were so excited about the tooth fairy coming.
You are very creative and love to draw and create things just like your sister. Science experiments are one of your favorite things. We often find your experiments in the freezer. You love to explore outside and you could swim for hours at a time.
You still love to build legos, forts and your latest thing has been booby traps. Not going to lie, I'm always a bit nervous as to what you will have built in your room. You are still a collector of any little thing you can find. You have your collections all over your room as well as in the hallway closet. You love money and we've had to hide your piggy bank this year because you like to empty it and play with all the coins.
You were a busy bee this year. You continued to play soccer and you also tried out baseball for the first time. You like soccer more, but I feel like you've come a long way in baseball. You can now hit off the coaches pitch. We just need you to not be afraid of catching the ball. We've got you signed up for both activities again in the Fall.
We love you little man. You bring so much joy into our family. Our lives really would be pretty boring without you in it!
Love,
Mommy
