Several months ago, my friend, Courtney, asked if I'd like to go to NYC for a girl's trip over her birthday weekend. I jumped at the chance! And we finally went a couple weeks ago. It was a quick trip, just about 48 hours, but we planned our time well and still fit in so much!
We arrived Friday night and after checking into our hotel downtown, we asked the concierge for a dinner reservation. He recommended
Acappella. We walked in and realized we were very much under dressed for it, but none the less, it was some delicious food. We just ate quick and got out. We grabbed a drink at a bar close by our hotel and then headed back for the night since we had an early morning the next day.
Saturday morning we started off by going to the 9/11 Memorial which was right across the street from our hotel. Court has been before, but this was my first time. It's a big place and while we could have spent all day in there, we stayed just about 2 hours. It's pretty emotional in there, so 2 hours was the perfect amount of time for your first visit. Plus it was starting to get pretty crowded in there by 11:00 when we left. We then headed to brunch over at
Sarabeth's. It was nice to sit down, thaw out and enjoy some yummy food. After brunch, we took the subway over to the discount theater tickets booth and grabbed some tickets for that night. We walked around a Christmas market at Union Square and then headed back to the hotel to change before dinner. We celebrated Court's birthday at
Stanton Social before heading to see The Falsettos on Broadway. This dinner was probably my favorite meal of the trip. And going in completely blind to the show, I really enjoyed it. After the show, we headed over to Rockefeller Center to brave the crowds and see the tree. Unfortunately our phones kept dying from the cold, so we didn't get the best pictures, but I was still glad we got to see it. It's always so fun going at Christmas time and see the city all decked out. After walking around a bit, we stopped for some drinks at the The Perfect Pint to finish out the night.

Sunday morning we slept in a bit before venturing out in the cold. We took the subway uptown to Herald Square and checked out all the Christmas window displays at Macy's. We opted for a quick Starbucks visit for breakfast . Then we headed to Bryant Park to walk quickly through another Christmas Market and then hopped back on the subway to go to Central Park. After walking around a bit, we stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar to buy some quick treats for the kids and then stopped to have pizza at
Patsy's. We couldn't leave NY without having some NY pizza. Overall we ate really well this trip. :) After lunch, we headed back to the hotel to pick up our bags and then took a cab back to the airport. It worked out well because the snow flurries started just as we were heading back to the airport. After some delays, we finally made it back home around 10:30 Sunday night. Even though I was exhausted when we got back, it was such a fun girls getaway. Thanks for inviting me Court! :)
