Barbies

Last weekend the kids and I were home alone while Shawn went to his friend's ranch.  I was trying to think of things to keep the kids busy, so I thought we would go over to my parents house and pick up my old Barbie dolls from when I was little.  Em has been saying she wants Barbies, so I thought this was the perfect time to go get them.  I brought them home Saturday morning and she literally did not put them down until Sunday at bedtime.  She LOVED playing with them and the 80's/90's style clothing didn't bother her one bit. We did have to throw 2 dolls away - 1 had a broken head and other had a broken arm, but I'd say keeping her busy with them was a success.  I've never seen her sit and play with 1 single toy for as long as she did with these!  This was one of those fun moments when I think about how fun it is to have a little girl of my own.  I loved seeing her play with a toy that I enjoyed so much when I was little.

I picked up my cabbage patch dolls from when I was little too.  Em was so busy playing with the Barbies though that she hasn't even opened the cabbage patch bags yet.  I know once she does, she'll be just as excited about playing with those!
