Several years in a row, I went to New Braunfels with friends and we floated the river. This was the first time Shawn went with me. We went with 9 of our friends over Fourth of July weekend back in 2006. We would always camp when I went and this year was no exception. I always thought camping just added to the fun. We camped for 2 nights and floated the river during our 1 day there.
Nighttime was always fun. We'd light a fire and cookout and even finish off with smores. We'd spend hours just chatting around the fire and playing cards too.
This picture cracks me up when I look at it. I have absolutely no idea what Shawn and Grant are doing. But looks like they are enjoying themselves!
After a long day of floating the river, we headed to Gruene, Texas. This was the first time I had ever been there. It's a really cute town with lots of quaint, little shops. They are known for Gruene Hall (it's a concert hall)
And of course when you are in Gruene, TX you have to eat at The Gristmill. Here's a picture of our whole group minus Kara's friend, Jill and her husband. They had to leave early.
And before we left, I had to take a picture of Shawn in front of our tent. We bought it especially for this trip and I was pretty proud of it. :)
