Here are all the little things we were up to in August:
We kicked off August with some back to school shopping during tax free weekend.
Big changes are coming to our backyard soon. We're getting a pool! Shawn and Evan have worked hard to clear out the backyard in preparation.
Emily cheered at the 6th grade Viking Camp pep rally.
Shawn taught Evan how to use the lawnmower. He mowed the lawn all by himself one afternoon.
Emily started volleyball tryouts on the 1st day of school. On Friday she found out she made the volleyball team. A few days later she found out she made the A team! Very proud of her for trying out for a sport she had never played before.
Emily's soccer team went out to dinner for a night of team bonding.
It was a sad day when we had to get our big tree cut down. Shawn and I planted this on our 1st anniversary. We kept the trunk and Shawn plans to build something out of it.
Em took some awesome pics of the sunset during her soccer practices.
Our neighbor, Brooklyn, is in 8th grade. Both she and Em made their grade level A volleyball teams.
Emily's team played in a tournament to get them ready for league play. They didn't advance, but held their own in the gold bracket.
Shawn went to Iowa for work and drove by the field of dreams baseball field.
Emily played in her first school volleyball game and they won! She played libero.
Emily and I have been out each night working on her overhand serve. She's determined to get it over the net consistently.
Shawn went to Austin with his friends to see Robert Earl Keen in concert.
Emily's team kicked off league play with 2 big wins!
Emily cheered at her first football game. She's not sure she loves cheering, but she is making lots of memories with her friends.
Evan kicked off hockey this month too, with individual evaluations followed by his teams leveling tournament. I only have videos and no pics, but he played amazing! His team won all 3 games and Evan ended up with 6 goals.
Whew, that was a busy month!!
