Evan turned TEN this year. I can't believe he's in double digits. Even though he and Shawn went on their fishing trip, I still wanted to do something fun to celebrate on his actual bday. He thought the trip was his present, so he wasn't expecting anything else. You only turn double digits once, so of course we had to go big. We surprised him with the lego set he's really been wanting. He was so excited and in true Evan fashion, proceeded to spend the majority of the day building it!
I planned a couple of activities for the afternoon that we had never done before. We started off at gamebox. It's an interactive video game. It was super fun and quite a workout.
Afterwards, we headed to Nerdvana for an early dinner. At this restaurant, you get to play video games at your table. I'm not sure there could be a more perfect place to celebrate Evan's birthday!
We finished off the night with Evan's choice of dessert. . ice cream cake!
I hope he had the best birthday ever!
Here are a few things I want to remember about Evan:
1. He's very good in the kitchen. For a couple years now, he's been scrambling eggs, making grilled cheese sandwiches and this year he has started making banana bread and muffins. He's going to make a good husband one of these days!
2. He still loves legos and can build sets so quickly now! His legos have completely taken over the game room. He's super creative when thinking of things to build too.
3. He's still loving hockey and can't wait for the new season to start in August.
