As much as I wished it away, my birthday still came and I turned the big 4-0. Shawn planned a whole weekend with friends and surprised me by having Stephanie, Luke and the kids come up for the weekend.
I got to enjoy an afternoon with the girls, while the dads entertained the kids. We went to brunch and then to the nail salon. Emily had a soccer game in the afternoon and I really wanted to watch, so Stephanie and I snuck off to watch before heading back home to get ready for dinner.
We had dinner reservations at Del Frisco Grille and then had some drinks at a bar nearby. It sure was a fun weekend with friends and it made turning 40 not so bad after all.
