October Little Things

October has been a full and busy month!  Here are all the little things we've been up to this month. . .

Evan's baseball team kicked off the month with a win.  It was fun to watch them finally get 1.

The kids had their annual fun run at school.  In the past, I've always attended.  But with my new job this year, I just wasn't able to make it work.  Luckily, I was still able to get lots of pictures from friends.

Texas Tech baseball came to town and played at the Roughrider's field one night.  We went with the Terry's.

Evan tried out hockey!  The Dallas Stars offer a free 4 week program called the Little Rookies.  It gives kids a chance to try out hockey with out the cost.  Evan really enjoyed it.  We're hoping to get him signed up for another class so he can continue.

Emily finished up the regular fall season of soccer.   They finished their season off strong, winning their last 5 games.  All month long they supported breast cancer awareness month by wearing pink badges on their leg.

The kids had a 4 day weekend for Columbus Day.  I stayed with them on Friday and Shawn stayed with them on Monday.  On Friday, I took them to go see The Addams Family.  On Monday, Shawn met up with Grant at the Truck Yard.

Shawn and Evan went camping with the boy scouts one weekend.  Evan had the very best time!

While the boys were gone, Emily went to a birthday party for a friend.

Evan's baseball team celebrated one of their teammates birthdays after one of their practices.

Emily had a couple girl scout meetings.

We met the newest addition to our family.  Shawn's sister, Catherine, welcome a new baby boy, Nolan.

Shawn worked from home 1 day and met both kids for lunch up at school.

Emily had a Halloween themed soccer practice 1 night.  Most of her team dressed up as hydroflasks.  It also happened to fall on Emily's birthday.  Her team was so sweet and sang Happy Birthday to her, along with another one of her teammates, who's birthday was the day before.

Emily and Leah, the birthday girls.
Emily ran for 4th grade student council representative of her class.  Almost half her class tried out.  Emily didn't get chosen, but I was so proud of her for even trying and getting up in front of her class to make a speech.  She worked hard on her poster too.

That's an avocado with her face on it.. . because who doesn't love avocados.  :)
Shawn and Evan carved a pumpkin for Halloween.

Whew, with all of that, we did still manage to have just a tiny bit of downtime during the month too.
