4th of July Weekend Recap

We had a nice long 4 day weekend to celebrate the 4th of July.  We made the most of it and did lots of fun things.

Shawn and I both got off a bit early on Friday and kicked off the weekend with a quick HH before heading home to the kids.  It was nice to have some kid free time!

Saturday morning, Shawn took Evan to a birthday party, while I caught up on cleaning and laundry at home.  Saturday afternoon we headed over to Scott and Stephanie's house for some BBQ and swimming.  The kids had a blast swimming with their cousins.

Sunday morning, I took Emily to go see Wonder Woman with one of my friends from work and her daughter.  We all really liked the movie.  Shawn and Evan had some more Daddy/son time.  We spent the afternoon playing outside.

Monday morning we went and got the kids their passports.  They need them for a trip we have planned over next spring break.  We figured might as well go get them now while both Shawn and I are off on the same day.  That afternoon Shawn painted our bedroom.  We painted it the same color as our bathroom.  I'm excited to find some new bedding and decor now.

Tuesday morning Shawn finished up painting our bedroom and then in the afternoon we headed over to my parents house for dinner and swimming.

It was a fun weekend which just made it that much harder to go back to work on Wednesday!  Luckily we've got a quick trip planned in a week, so we'll get another fun break.
