Mother's Day 2016

We started celebrating Mother's Day last week with a couple events at the kids schools.  Last Thursday, Emily had a Mother's Day program at school.  It was so cute!  The Kindergartners sang about 4 or 5 songs and then we all had a picnic lunch in the cafeteria.  I loved getting to spend some time with Em during her school day.  I picked her up from Alphabest early that day too and we went and grabbed some ice cream for an afternoon snack.

On Friday, it was time for me to celebrate with Evan.  He had muffins with Mom at school.  Again, I love getting some 1 on 1 time with each of the kiddos.

Both kids showered me with home made cards and crafts for Mother's Day.  I look forward to these gifts every year!

"Dear Mommy, I love you because you love me and you are nice."  Notice she totally left Evan off the family picture.  Also that she drew herself with blonde hair.  Some pictures she has brown hair and others it's blonde.  :)

A flower she made for me in art class.

Notice the number #1 reason that I rock.  I don't do the cooking in our house, Shawn does.  So I totally laughed at this and asked Em what food I make that's so good.  She responded saying, "Oh, that was another kid's idea, I just copied it from the board."  Ha.

"Dear Mom,  I love you because you let me watch my kindle."  Too bad the day I got this, she lost her kindle for the week.

Evan made me a sun catcher at school.

Sunday morning, Shawn and the kids surprised me with donuts for breakfast.  They would have let me sleep in too, however, these darn allergies have made it impossible for me to sleep well the last few nights, so I was up bright and early with them.  Unfortunately, Evan was just not having a good day and literally pushed every button of mine on Sunday, but what are you going to do?  When you're 3, you don't really care if it's Mother's Day or not.  :) Luckily, we were able to salvage the day and we all enjoyed a nice brunch out with Kevin, Julie and the girls.  I even snuck away for some shopping and came home and took a nap.

Even though some days can be so difficult, I wouldn't change anything for being a Mom to these 2.  They keep my life interesting and fun and I love them to pieces!
