Emily has been asking for a desk in her room for some time now. We had kept Shawn's old writing desk from when he lived in his condo and it had been in the attic. Shawn got it down and refinished it for Emily to put in her room. She loves her new big girl desk! It makes her room look so much more like a big girl's room.
We took the kids to our city's annual Trick a Trout event. They stock a pond with 3000 fish and people can come out and fish. Kids are the only ones that can fish for the first 3 hours. We arrived at the park about 10 minutes after it started and it was packed! I definitely wasn't expecting it to be so crowded already. Unfortunately, for us after the 70 degree weather we had been having, this morning was cold and windy. We made it about 30 minutes before calling it a bust. No one was catching anything and it was just so cold that the kids were starting to lose interest. Hopefully we can give it a go another year when it's a bit warmer. And now we know to get out there even earlier.
We went over to our friend's house, the Terry's, for dinner one night. Jenny had set up such a fun night for the kids. . .smores and a movie outside. All the kids lined up their sleeping bags and watched Big Hero 6 projected onto their fence. It was a super cute idea!
Both kids had some rough patches this month. Evan got sick with a cold and a bad cough and had to go on breathing treatments for several days. Emily jammed her pinky toe really badly on the stairs. She couldn't walk on it the day it happened and for the next week her foot continued to swell and bruise. I wasn't sure how long she would be limping on it, however, I'm not sure why I was worried. This girl never ceases to amaze me with her toughness. Just 4 days later she played in her soccer game and came away with a goal. .black and blue toe and all.
Evan was being silly one night and decided he needed to sleep in his winter hat and do a little dance for us.
Evan is still enjoying his time in Preschool 1 and I look forward to getting pictures like this during the day.
We spent a ton of time outside this month enjoying all of the beautiful weather we've had lately. It doesn't look like we will be getting any snow this winter.
