The rehearsal was on Friday night and Em did great. She was a little shy at first, but still had no problem walking down the very long aisle! The rehearsal dinner was right afterwards and one of the waitresses at the restaurant was one of Em's old teachers. She hasn't seen Em in a couple years, but totally recognized her. It was fun to catch up with her. We enjoyed dinner and getting to chat with everyone. Em especially took a liking to her Uncle Fred, William's Dad.
The wedding was at 2:00 on Saturday afternoon which meant Em got no nap. I was a little worried with how she would hold up after being out late the night before, but she did great. As soon as she put on that flower girl dress, I could tell she felt like a princess and she was so excited. Once again, Em did great going down the aisle. The service was a full mass which meant it was long. And Em had to sit with the bridesmaids during it, not me. I was so proud of how well she did and was great at remembering when she had to sit and stand. Of course the bridesmaids were all so sweet to her and helped her out. Several people complemented her on how well she did. I failed miserably when it came to taking pictures the day of the wedding, but at least I got a couple! I'm hoping Willy and Jenny's photographer got some good ones of Em.
After the ceremony we headed over to the reception. This is where Em started to get a little bored. She didn't know as many people at this wedding, compared to her Uncle Scott's and she was a bit more shy. She wouldn't get off the dance floor at Uncle Scott's wedding, but at this one we couldn't get her to dance at all. I think she wished there were other kids there that she knew. By 7:30 or so, the day started to catch up to her, so Em and I headed home and Shawn stayed to visit more with his family.
Just like the last wedding, Evan stayed home both nights. Friday night my cousin, Katie, watched him and Shawn's Dad watched him on Saturday. He did join us for the brunch on Sunday though.
