Saturday
We had a fun, busy Saturday. Evan was very excited about the weekend and decided to wake up at 5:30! Mommy wasn't nearly as enthusiastic as him, but watching my happy, sweet boy play made it a little easier on me.
Em had dance class as usual in the morning. I took her and she was super excited because they got to try on their dance recital costumes and show us their dance again. It just makes me so much more excited to see her in the recital in just a few weeks!
At the end of dance, Shawn and Evan met us to go to the Farmer's Market across the street. We love walking around the farmer's market and seeing all the yummy stuff they have. We ended up buying some breakfast pastries for Sunday morning. Evan was doing so well at the Farmer's Market we decided to try our luck and go out for lunch at Blue Goose. It was overcast outside and the perfect patio weather. Evan (and Em) did amazing at lunch.

After lunch we headed back home and all 4 of us took a much needed nap! I for one was exhausted! After naptime we loaded up and headed down to Arlington to visit his Granny. We had plans to go out to dinner, but plans don't always work out the way you expect. It had rained on us off and on the whole drive down, but by the time we got to his Granny's house it had completely stopped. We had about 30-40 min. before our dinner reservations and it was sunny the whole time we were at her house. Shawn and his Granny drove in 1 car and the kids and I followed (the downside of having 2 car seats is we can only fit 2 adults in the car). As we were driving it started pouring. We parked the cars and I waited with the kids in the car while Shawn walked in Granny in and then came to get us. We both had an umbrella and 1 kid, but it was so windy the umbrella didn't help at all. We walked into the restaurant and the 4 of us were drenched. I'm talking completely soaked. Em started shivering and I knew there was no way we could go sit in a nice air conditioned restaurant as wet as we were, so we turned right around and got back in the cars. And guess what happened as soon as we started drving home. . the rained completely stopped. :( I just kept telling Em that it wasn't meant to be. Instead Shawn just ran out and got some takeout while I changed the kids into the pj's I had brought for them. Even though things didn't go as planned we still had a nice time visiting with his Granny. And really the kids were just as happy eating Dickey's as they would have been eating at a nice restaurant. Evan even showed off his new skills. He's up to about 10 steps now on his own!
Sunday
We had a quiet morning on Sunday. Em and Shawn went grocery shopping while I stayed home so Evan could nap. After the kids afternoon nap we packed up and headed to Mimi and Papa's for dinner and swimming. I was excited to see how the kids would do in the pool this year. Luckily I was able to convince Em to wear her puddle jumper and she loved being able to swim around on her own. I've been trying to get her to wear it for the last 2 summers and she's wanted nothing to do with it. But now she loves the freedom it gives her. She had a blast swimming with my nieces and I practically had to drag her out of the pool to eat dinner. Evan also loved the pool. He was perfectly content floating around the pool in the float. He must have floated for at least an hour and then was happy swimming with Shawn for another hour. He's definitely a water baby. It didn't hurt either that my Dad had heated the pool and it felt like bath water. . haha. Seeing the kids in the water made me even more excited about our upcoming trip in July. We enjoyed eating dinner outside with my family before heading back home.

| Poor guy had to swim in the ladybug float. That's the downside of having 3 girl cousins. Don't worry, we'll buy him a boy one to use on vacation. :) |

| Trust me, she really is having a ton of fun despite the look on her face. |
This was also a big trip for us because my parents decided to take Lily for me. I'm so thankful that they have graciously offered to do this and I love that I will still be able to see her whenever I want. We brought Lily over with us and I know she'll adjust very quickly since she's already familiar with their house.
Monday
After all the time we spent in the sun and pool on Sunday we were all tired. Em slept til 6:30 (which is about average for her) and Evan slept in until 7:45! We might just have to take him swimming every weekend! We took a family trip to Market Street and then headed back home. I put Evan down for a nap and 3.5 hours later he was still napping. He really was worn out! Me and Em ran out to order Evan's smash cake for his party coming up and then had some lunch at home before putting Em down for a nap. Later in the evening Shawn's cousin, William, and his girlfriend, Jenny, came over for dinner. Me and Em had to run out to swim lessons for an hour, but made it back just in time for dinner. We had fun visiting, but were all ready for an early bedtime. This was a tiring weekend!

| You can't tell, but the kids are really fighting over the remote. |
 |
| Em wasn't in the mood for pics, but I still took some. :) |
 |
| Is it just me or does he look so big in this pic? I can almost picture him as a teenager mowing the lawn. . haha |
