Weekend Recap

Despite still being on bedrest, it ended up being a fun weekend.  Our friends, Tommy and Jenny came over Saturday afternoon with their daughter, Aubrey.  Emily was sooo excited for her to come over.  She wouldn't stop talking about her coming over all day.  Tommy and Jenny were very generous and brought over lots of yummy food from Uncle Julio's for dinner.  It was a perfect meal to eat on Cinco de Mayo!  We sat outside the whole time and visited while the girls played.  Shawn blew up the bounce house and the girls enjoyed jumping, playing on the swing set and drawing with chalk.  And it was nice to be able to sit outside for a while (something I've done very little of since I've been on bedrest).  I think both girls were very worn out by the end of the day.

Sunday morning my friend/co-worker, Michele, came over with her daughter Haleigh.  We sat outside for a bit and let the girls play on the swing set before they both decided they wanted to come back in.  I didn't blame them - it was hot out (and I wasn't running around like them)!  We headed upstairs and the girls played dress-up for a bit.  Michele brought over the cutest diaper cake that she made for Evan.  I hate to take it apart, but I'm looking forward to seeing all the cute things in it.  They were also so sweet and brought Em a surprise - an Ariel doll.  Em loves it! 

As I've said in the past, visitors while on bedrest make the time pass so much more quickly.  There were a few times this weekend I actually forgot that I've been stuck in the house for so long!  I'm so thankful that we have such wonderful friends and family that want to come visit.  We've actually had several other visitors recently that I haven't mentioned, but will make sure to write about in my bedrest post this week.
